The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as
Senior Engineer – Electrical Engineering.
About The Role
Reporting to the Superintendent – Capital Engineering, the Senior Engineer – Electrical Engineering you will play a critical role in ensuring consistent electrical engineering support across all project phases. This position exists to maintain engineering continuity on site, preventing project delays due to lack of electrical progress.
In This Role, You Will
- Prepare technical documents, including specifications and drawings
- Deliver detailed electrical engineering calculations
- Provide engineering input and reviews for design documents and drawings
- Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Support package engineering and procurement activities
- Manage external engineering companies/consultants during design stages
- Develop Scopes of Work (SOW), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), standards, and specifications
- Provide technical support during project preparation and execution
- Communicate effectively with contractors and project stakeholders
- Maintain project administration folders and document control procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
- Uphold high standards of health and safety in alignment with NPL OHS policies
- Assist with feasibility and prefeasibility studies
- Conduct condition assessments
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in electrical design engineering (design experience is essential)
- IEPNG registration, or eligibility to register
- Strong knowledge of Australian & PNG electrical standards
- Proven experience managing multiple engineering projects concurrently
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience in engineering project management and project process flows
- Strong technical/engineering design background
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Candidates must be PNG Nationals and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.
